A download project

These days I am busy downloading a free software, de facto, is NepaLinux
under GUI license. Such free code softwares not only help pro and tyro
programmers to learn and test but they do help a lot of users to get
familar to sorts of applications.

The single file named "nepalinuxb10.iso" is of bulky 686.74 MB size and
think my connection speed of 56 KBPS and download accelerator 7.5 will end
the task successful in about a month with a hour randomly each day. Five
days have already gone with 150 MB on on and on...

Burning image and installing are yet another headache for Linux Operating
System, and I always fear if I encounter any mistake command I could loose
my hard disk forever, forever.

Let me see and post blogs while the download accelertaor does its task.

Send these SMSes

Here are some of messages that I consider laughable, disgusting... na.

CNN News. Bush orders 15,000 FBI trained dogs to track down Osama. FBI
awaiting further orders as one of the dogs is reading this.

I think drinking and driving is terrible. You always spill it when you
change gears...

What happened when the Pope went to Mount Olive?
Popeye beat the crap outta him.

Boss: (to employee) - Experts say humor on the job relieves tension in
this time of down-sizing, Knock, Knock.
Employee: Who's there?
Boss: Not you anymore.

Two goldfish are in a tank. One says to the other, "Do you know how to
drive this thing?"

Have some, share this to the world!

Google's network problem?

Today, I heard on BBC World that Google's not maintaining user's privacy
as users data can easily be collected when some one Google searches. But I

Also few days, no any Google pages are available for people of Nepal,
where is the problem with Google is this everywhere or .... this too needs
verification

I never get chance to sign my Google group, I am afraid what's going on.
And had there been no Opera, this posting too would not been possible.

Chain Reactions

Chain Reactions: Referring forwarded emails

I think not only me but most of us these days are getting spam mails in more numbers. I receive atleast 10 of these junkard blasters. If you do not like such mails, why send others?

More on this, on my next posting.

Mobile Mania

New LG 2100 Mobile set heads me off !!!

I am recently faded by Samsung DVDs as you know and another woes rules before the previous one fires.
Here comes a new mobile set by LG 2100 GSM but the software gets sophisticated, does detects no any devies ie the set itself whenever I plug it onto my PC.

But, my COM ports and rest everything are getting on their way but my trying continues.
Manual, too, gives a few glimpse of the usage and further I shall continue to pore it down. Till I manage and make a first PC call via this new mobile, comment me on.

Mighty PC Facts!!

It's not as great as Easter Eggs but "Mighty PC Facts!! "

  • If you want to scan or defrag your disk, try this in safe mode. You will see that this will be fast without the process being restarted quite often.
  • It is very tempting to push the DVD- ROM tray to close when it is an open state. If you want the life of your DVD - ROM be longer stop doing this, as this increases the wear and tear of the gears in your DVD- ROM. Use the button instead.
  • Use narrow type fonts while printing large documents. For example Bedrock or Arial narrow fonts save about 67% of the paper.
  • If you are running an old Pentium machine and want to check if there is an Intel Pentium; Bug in it or not, check this calculation out in the calculator provided in Programs> Accessories> Calculator or type calc in run. [4195835/3145727]*3145727. If you get 4195835 which is the correct answer your machine is free of any bug. But the result with the bug is 4195579.
  • Try typing .LOG at the start of a notepad file and save it. Open it later and see the magic.

  • You all must have noticed that in the drop down menu, there are some entries preceded by some dots like Save As … What does this mean? Whenever you click on the list with these dots you will get another window to specify your choice.

  • If you want to have nameless shortcuts on your desktop, try this. Activate rename, then press Alt + 0160, you will get nothing written. If you want to create one more, then press Alt + 0160 + Spacebar. The more you want to name increase the number of times you press the spacebar ie for another Alt + 0160 + Spacebar + Spacebar.

  • If you are not an expert at playing minesweeper and you fall short of time, then here is a trick. Start a game, right click and left click the mouse together and hit Esc at the same time. You will see that the timer will stop so you can play as slowly as you like.

"In some sense I think we're somewhat envious (of Red Hat), right? I

mean they sell something to which they have a fairly minimal R&D

investment and yet they enjoy the benefits of it. It's - Wow! "
